WELCOME TO CYBL WINTER LEAGUE REGISTRATION

We’re excited to welcome your child to the Chelsea Youth Basketball League (CYBL). Our Winter League is open to boys and girls ages 4–16 and HS level, whether they are brand new to basketball or have prior experience. Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions to help you register and understand the season, practices, and programs.

CYBL Winter League – Frequently Asked Questions

My child is new to basketball.

That’s perfect. CYBL is designed for beginners. Players learn the fundamentals through weekly practices, games, and free skills camps in a supportive environment.

My child is not from Chelsea.

No problem. Players from any city or town are welcome to join CYBL.

When can I sign up?

Registration is open now for ages 4–16.

• In person during our Free Skills Camp at Clark Avenue School from 5:30–8:30 PM on:
• November 12
• November 13
• November 18
• November 25

Additional in-person registration is available every Thursday from 5:30–8:30 PM until tryouts begin (first week of December).

Free Skills Camp Schedule

• Ages 4–7: 5:30–6:30 PM
• Ages 8–10: 6:30–7:30 PM
• Ages 11 & up: 7:30–8:30 PM

What does the Winter League include?

• One practice per week
• One game per week
• Playoffs and end-of-season banquet
• Free skills camps and community events throughout the year
• Opportunity to participate in Spring League

How much does it cost?

• $100 per player
• $80 for each additional sibling
• Scholarships are available for families in need
• Free Skills & Drills Camps provided in partnership with the Chelsea Recreation Center

My child isn’t very experienced or may be more advanced.

We place every player where they will learn and grow best.

• New players may play down one division
  • Example: A 6th grader new to basketball may join the JR League
• Advanced players may play up one division if ready
  • Example: A 5th grader with experience may move to the SR League

Players may participate in two divisions for a total of $135 ($100 + $35).

Important Dates

• Tryouts for new players: First week of December
• Season begins: January 6, 2026
